the gravity plug from jee labs uses a BMA020 3-axis accelerometer with a settable range between 2 and 8 g’s. unlike the other accelerometers we’ve used, this one is super-simple to setup: just plug it into a port, and use jee’s wonderful library to access all the particulars.
